How to Scan NZ Free-to-Air Satellite Channels on ENGLAON Google TVUpdated 6 days ago

This guide applies to ENGLAON X90 Google TV using Freeview Satellite through a satellite dish in New Zealand.

Freeview’s satellite TV service in New Zealand moved to KoreaSat 6 on 15 April 2025. KoreaSat 6 is still located at 160.0E, replacing the older Optus D2 satellite.

This article is based on the ENGLAON X90 Google TV menu. If your TV is a different model, the menu layout may look slightly different, but the working principle is the same.

Although NZ Freeview Satellite now uses KoreaSat 6, it is still located at 160.0E. If your ENGLAON TV menu shows Ku_Optus D1 160.0E, Optus D1 160.0E, Optus D2 160.0E, or another 160.0E Ku Band option, it can still be used for scanning.

The satellite name is mainly a preset label. The most important settings are the 160.0E position, Ku-band, correct LNB frequency, and correct transponder settings.
