Can I upgrade my ENGLAON TV to a newer operating system version?

ENGLAON smart TVs support software (firmware) updates to improve performance, fix bugs, and maintain app compatibility. These updates are usually delivered automatically over the internet (OTA) or can be manually checked in settings.

Software / Firmware Updates (Supported)

ENGLAON TVs can receive ongoing updates, including:

• Bug fixes
• Performance improvements
• App compatibility updates

These updates help maintain system stability and ensure the best possible user experience over time.

Major Operating System Upgrades (Limited)

Upgrading the TV’s core operating system (for example, from Android TV to Google TV, or from Google TV 3.0 to Google TV 5.0) is generally not supported.

This is because:

• The operating system is tightly integrated with the TV’s hardware and chipset
• Upgrades depend on manufacturer support and Google certification
• Most smart TVs globally only receive incremental updates, not full OS upgrades

What Can Still Improve Over Time

Even without a major OS upgrade, your TV can still improve through:

• App updates via Google Play
• Minor interface and system improvements
• Security patches
• Streaming compatibility updates

Please note that some apps may remain unavailable on certain older platforms due to provider restrictions.

For example, the X90 series (Google TV 3.0) will not upgrade to Google TV 5.0. Newer models such as the X70PLUS and X90PRO are released with the latest system pre-installed.
