Why is my USB file not playing on my ENGLAON TV?

Most issues are not TV faults, usually caused by:

  1. USB power limitation (5V / 0.5A) ← Most common

  2. File format / codec compatibility

  3. USB device quality or speed


Check USB Power (Most Important)

All ENGLAON TVs output 5V / 0.5A only

Common symptoms:

  • USB not detected
  • Disconnects randomly
  • Files not be detected 

Solution:

  • Use USB flash drive (recommended)
  • Avoid external HDD (unless self-powered)

File Not Playing / Unsupported

Symptoms:

  • File shows but won’t play
  • “Unsupported format”

Cause:

  • Unsupported video/audio codec (even if MP4)

Solution:

  • Convert to:
    • Video: MP4 (H.264)
    • Audio: AAC / MP3

USB Detected but Empty

Symptoms:

  • USB shows, but no files

Fix:

  • Format USB to FAT32 / exFAT
  • Put files in root folder (no deep folders)
  • Wait 10–30 seconds after plugging in

Video Has No Sound

Cause:

  • Unsupported audio (common: DTS)

Fix:

  • Convert audio to AAC

Recommended Format (Best Compatibility)

  • Video: MP4 (H.264)
  • Audio: AAC
  • Resolution: ≤1080p
