What should I do if my ENGLAON Google TV is slow, frozen, or not responding?Updated a month ago

What should I do if my ENGLAON Google TV is slow, frozen, or not responding?

If your ENGLAON Google TV feels slow, freezes, becomes unresponsive, or the remote does not seem to respond properly, please follow the steps below to identify the most likely cause.

Step 1 – Check whether the issue affects the whole TV or only one app

If the whole TV is slow or not responding

For example:

  • the Home screen is slow
  • Settings opens slowly
  • multiple apps are lagging
  • button presses are delayed

This is more likely related to the TV system, background apps, updates, storage, or network conditions.

If only one app is affected

For example:

  • only one streaming app freezes
  • only one app crashes
  • HDMI or Free-to-Air TV still works normally

This is more likely an app-related issue rather than a TV fault.

Step 2 – Restart the TV

Please restart the TV first.

A restart can often clear temporary lag, background process issues, or short-term system freezing.

If the TV works normally after restart, the issue was most likely temporary.

Step 3 – Check whether the issue is related to the remote or the TV itself

If the remote is not responding, please try controlling the TV using the Google TV app on your phone.

For setup steps, please refer to: How to use Google TV Remote Control App

If the TV responds to the Google TV app

This usually means the TV itself is still working normally, and the issue is more likely related to the physical remote control, battery condition, or remote pairing.

If the TV does not respond to the Google TV app

This usually means the issue is less likely to be caused by the physical remote alone.

The TV system may be frozen, unresponsive, or affected by a deeper software issue.

Step 4 – If the remote is not responding

Please:

  • replace the batteries with a brand new set
  • test the remote again
  • Check whether your TV remote is connected via Bluetooth. Please Read

If the TV responds to the Google TV app but the physical remote still does not work, the issue may be related to the remote itself or its pairing connection.

Step 5 – If only one app is freezing or crashing

Please:

  • close and reopen the app
  • check whether the app has an update available
  • test whether other apps work normally

If the issue only affects one app, it is most likely caused by that app rather than the TV itself.

Step 6 – Check whether updates may be affecting performance

Your Google TV may temporarily feel slower while:

  • app updates are running
  • system updates are installing
  • background services are updating

If the issue started during or shortly after an update, restart the TV again and test it after a short period.

Step 7 – Check your internet connection

A slow internet connection can sometimes look like a TV issue.

Please check whether:

  • apps are loading slowly
  • streaming is buffering
  • online content is taking a long time to load

If only online functions are slow, the issue is more likely related to the network connection rather than the TV itself.

Step 8 – Check available storage

If many apps are installed and the TV has become slower over time, low storage space may be affecting performance.

Please remove unused apps and restart the TV.

If you have tried the steps above and the issue still continues, please contact our customer support team and provide:

  • your order number or invoice number
  • TV model number
  • serial number, if available
  • a short video clearly showing the issue
