How to Fix Foxtel iQ4 / iQ5 No Picture on an HD or Full HD TVUpdated 17 days ago
Foxtel iQ4 / iQ5 Shows “No Signal” or “Not Supported” on a Non-4K TV
If you connect a Foxtel iQ4 or iQ5 box to an HD or Full HD TV and see “No Signal”, “Not Supported”, or no picture, the Foxtel box may be set to output 4K / 2160p.
This can happen because Foxtel iQ4 and iQ5 boxes support 4K output, but true Foxtel 4K UHD requires a compatible 4K TV and suitable HDMI / HDCP setup.
If the TV is not 4K, the Foxtel box may need to be changed to 1080p, Auto, or a lower supported output setting.
How to Change Foxtel iQ4 / iQ5 HDMI Output to 1080p
Please try the steps below using your Foxtel remote:
- Press the Home button on the Foxtel remote.
- Go to the Settings icon.
- Select Advanced Settings.
- Select Picture Settings.
- Find Set Top Box HDMI Output or HDMI Output Setting.
- Change the setting from 2160p / 4K UHD to 1080p.
- If 1080p is not available or does not work, try Auto.
- Press Back to save the change, then return to live TV.
- Restart both the Foxtel box and the TV if the picture does not return immediately.
Foxtel’s own troubleshooting information refers to this menu path:
Home → Settings → Advanced Settings → Picture Settings → Set Top Box HDMI Output
The HDMI output setting may need to be adjusted depending on the TV being used.
Recommended Foxtel Output Setting
| TV Type | Recommended Foxtel Output |
|---|---|
| 4K TV | Auto or 2160p |
| Full HD TV | 1080p |
| HD TV | Auto first; if available, try 720p or 1080p |
For many HD TVs, a 1080p signal may still display because the TV can scale the image down to the panel resolution. However, if the TV cannot accept the signal, the Foxtel box should be set to Auto or a lower output such as 720p, if that option is available.
If you are using an ENGLAON HD or Full HD TV, you can still watch supported Foxtel SD and HD channels, but not true Foxtel 4K UHD.
If You Cannot See the Foxtel Menu
If the screen shows no picture at all and you cannot access the Foxtel menu, the HDMI output may already be set to an unsupported resolution.
In this case, please try:
- connecting the Foxtel box to a compatible 4K TV temporarily and changing the HDMI output to 1080p or Auto
- trying a different HDMI cable
- restarting both the Foxtel box and the TV
- contacting Foxtel support for help resetting the box’s display output
This issue is usually related to the Foxtel box’s HDMI output setting and TV resolution compatibility, rather than a fault with the TV.
